For Business Impacted Update From Covid-19


The city provides resources to support as many SF companies and employees as possible. On April 24, 2020, a new federal law was passed that reopened the PPP and EIDL programs after closing for a week. We are also working hard to Improve  additional local resources. Check for updates again.

Do you need help paying for changes and upgrades in your store so that it can reopen and work safely?

OEWD has restarted SF Shine's opening program to offer grants of up to $ 5,000 to small businesses. The program provides compensation for the cost of safe operation, including furniture, lighting and barriers. Designers can also access professional design services to reshape the interior and exterior.

Open to non-profit and non-profit companies with SF license or accreditation from a store and open to the public

Gross income less than 2.5 million euros

 Due to COVID-19, grants are available for past, present or future physical improvements to health and safety

Proof of sales loss of at least 25% within 30 days

Theι Applicant must have a low income  The eligibility criteria for the second phase have been changed to better target vulnerable small business impact that may not have received other government funding:

 (1) unemployed entrepreneurs are now eligible and (2) applicants must have low incomes. The winners of the prizes will be selected through a lottery system and some of the money will go to companies that will reopen in Phases 2C and 3 in San Francisco, as well as companies that have been active for five or more years.

Neighborhood Mini-Grants

The city has partnered with community partners to reuse existing funds for a new COVID-19 mini-scholarship program aimed at helping small business impact in historically inadequate communities and women-owned women. Eligibility and allotment  amounts vary by region and range from $ 1,000 to $ 10,000. The funds can be used to support expenses such as salaries, rent and tools, or to supplement income from direct loss of income from companies. The neighborhood was assigned on June 1, 2020.

Additional criteria vary depending on the area

 Are you a black entrepreneur affected by COVID-19?

The African American Small Business impacted Revolution Fund provides loans of up to $ 50,000 with 0% interest to assist San Francisco Black businesses. There are no fees or security requirements. Long-term black-owned companies and those most affected by the current Housing Hygiene Ordinance will be given priority. Payments are deferred for the first 12 months and up to 20% of the loan can be extended. The funds can in some cases be used for machinery and equipment, furniture and lighting, inventory, working capital (including salaries, rent, other operating expenses), refinancing of corporate liabilities, improvements of employees and company acquisitions.
